Do you ever look around your home at the decor and think
' I just don't know where to start!?'
I'm here to reassure you this feeling is completely normal, I hear this statement very often.
Designing the interior of your room or even choosing just the right wall colour can be overwhelming, especially with the vast choices available today, coupled with the fact that many people lead busy lives and are very short of time juggling family and work- I totally get it!
I can help you by getting to know you and your needs within the space then guiding you through the design process to achieve the transformation for your home. If you have 'awkward' shaped areas I can create a new layout for you and choose just the right furniture for the space. If you have many paint colours all around your room I can help you choose the perfect shade, whatever you need - I can help.
I'm here to empathise and discuss any design problem you are struggling with and work through it together to create a beautiful and practical interior design solution for you.
Just take the first step and contact me at hello@emmablakedesign.com or on the form at the bottom and we can begin our design journey by arranging a complimentary Discovery video call to discuss you design needs, I'm here to help.
'Emma was really helpful and accommodating from the start and came up with a selection of ideas that she thought would suit us. She really listened to how we live as a family so she could incorporate this into the vision. I really appreciated her ideas and opinions.'
' We engaged Emma to help us re-decorate our living room. We found her to be very professional and helpful, and she understood what we were looking for even where we couldn’t articulate it well ourselves. Emma presented us with various options for curtains, wallpaper and paint, and we found our perfect combination. The finished outcome is wonderfully co-ordinated and our made-to-measure curtains have a stunning pattern. We are delighted with the outcome and would welcome the opportunity to work again with Emma in the future. Highly recommended.'
'I had a design consultation with Emma today to discuss ideas for our living room and dining room as we were stuck in a rut and couldn’t see the wood for the trees. Emma came up with some brilliant suggestions of how to make the space work for us better as a family and found some stunning pieces of furniture that would compliment our rooms. She has revolutionised our current living space, I can’t wait to get started. Thank you so much Emma!'
'I loved working with Emma, she helped bring out my creative side and fill an empty space with all my favourite things.
Emma was so fun to work with, nothing was too much for her. She absolutely nailed my personal taste, and provided links to never-to-be-found interior items which were just spot on for the atmosphere I wanted to create. Emma took the space I had to the next level. I'm thrilled with the outcome and never dreamed my home could look so amazing.
Thanks Emma; I couldn't have done it without you!'
So you love the colour orange and you paint your walls orange, then you visit a sofa showroom, loved a blue sofa and in a few weeks the sofa is delivered, you do the same with a rug, lighting and other items in your room.
Then... you look around your room, the orange that you loved originally is overpowering, the sofa is too large in the room and the blue colour doesn't work with the bright orange walls. The lighting is too big and the rug looks too small - You've spent time and money on a room that you now hate even though you loved all the items individually. You're not sure how and why it all went wrong..
Let me tell you why:
Interior designers look at the entire space, plan the layout, get to know you very well and design the room to suit, your needs, style and personality. They understand you love orange and really want a blue sofa and will work with you to guide you by choosing the perfect shade and the size and style of the perfect sofa, or come up with alternative suggestions that reflect you and make your home 'sing'. This is a skill a trained interior designer can give to you and your home.
Interior designers guide you to make the right decisions for your home first time.
Imagine as I have previously answered in the question 'Why work with an interior designer' You have paid a decorator to paint your room a bold shade of orange but are really unhappy with the outcome. You have already paid for the paint and the decorator, not to mention all the personal time you have spent choosing sample pots and looking through numerous colour charts. This all takes up a lot of your personal time and you still aren't happy.
Now you have to decide whether to choose another colour and try to get it right the second time, again choosing the paint samples and paying a decorator.
My question to you is why not work with a trained professional and get it right the first time? This will save you time and money and you are much more likely to love the results.
Why not pay once so you get the benefit of enjoying your home for many years to come.
You and your home deserve this.
How I work as an interior designer is to really get to know my client's needs, style and personality and adopt the style that works for them. I have and will always work like this. I have many client's and they all have different tastes, I respect this and work to produce interior design that is tailored to them.
Of course if they do want orange walls everywhere I will work with this and choose colour, curtains and furniture that all tie together and deliver the clients what they want for their home from an interior designer's perspective. If I think something 'won't' work I will give reasons why and find alternatives and this will always reflect their taste.
No style is off limits and it's all personal to my client.

Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you,
